The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has suspended its ongoing nationwide strike action.
It could be recalled that members of the association earlier embarked upon the strike to press for their demands from the federal government.
The union had earlier suspended its planned nationwide protest following an intervention of the Senate leadership under Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Speaking with the media on Friday, Emeka Orji, NARD president, said the strike was suspended on Friday evening, adding that the resident doctors would resume work at 8 am on Saturday.
“We just suspended the strike. Work to resume at 8 am tomorrow. We will review progress made in two weeks,“ he said.
He also appreciated all the resident Doctors for their understanding and commitment to reposition the medical profession.
