A teenager and her boyfriend have been arrested by the police in Ogun state, after the pair faked her kidnap to extort cash from her parent.
The two suspects, 17-year-old Seun Adekunle and her boyfriend 25-year-old, Basit Olasunkanmi, were nabbed by the police after a complaint was lodged by her mother.
The teenager’s mother, Bukky Adekunle, on June 4th reported at Enugada police division, that her daughter hasn’t returned home after being sent to the market three days back.
According to her, she received a call from someone two days later who claimed to have kidnapped the girl and demanding for the sum of N500,000 as ransom.
