Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has promised the club’s Under 23 youngsters that some of them will get an opportunity to play against Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth-round clash next month.
Liverpool’s Under 23 coach, Neil Critchley made this known following the Reds’ 1-0 victory over Shrewsbury in the FA Cup fourth-round encounter on Tuesday night at Anfield.
Liverpool will now play Frank Lampard’s Chelsea in the fifth-round during the weekend of March 5.
“The manager [Jurgen Klopp] sent a message prior to the game with some words of advice and support which was fantastic,” Critchley said as quoted by Metro UK after the match.
“He is delighted with the performance and the result.
“He sent a message during half time and also at the end of the game.
“There was a message before the kick-off that Chelsea away could be an opportunity for some of them and they put in a spectacular performance tonight against Shrewsbury.”
