Breaking: EFCC grills Bayelsa ex-Governor, Serike Dickson
Former governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson is currently being held at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) facing interrogations over abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds during his eight-year rule as governor.
Dickson, who now serves as a senator representing Bayelsa West, was summoned to appear before the anti-graft agency today.
According to reports, he arrived at the Abuja office at about 11 am and has since then, been under interrogation by a team of EFCC operatives.
Details of the allegations against the governor were sketchy as of the time of filing this report but a source familiar with the case disclosed that they relate to issues of assets declaration and misapplication of intervention funds and other assets belonging to the Bayelsa State government.
Dickson was governor from 2012 to 2020.
