Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has said that he was ‘proud’ to win the Serie A’s best player of the year award.
DAILY POST had reported that Ronaldo was named Serie A’s best player at an awards ceremony in Milan on Monday night.
Ronaldo scored 26 goals in his debut season in Italy, as Juventus clinched another domestic title.
The Portugal captain was voted the best by fellow Serie A players, coaches, referees, journalists and technical commissioners.
“I’m proud to be the best player in Serie A,” Ronaldo was quoted by Marca as saying.
“I thank my teammates and everyone who voted for me.
“Now I’ll work to be here again next year.”
Ronaldo has scored six goals in 11 league appearances this season, as Juve currently trail Inter Milan by one point.
