A video has since gone viral on the internet in which an Uber driver is seen assaulting one of his passengers with a whip. While the emergence of taxi hailing companies in Nigeria has brought about comfort for many people, it appears the issue of safety and cordial respect between drivers and riders continuous to be an issue. Currently trending on social media is a disturbing video of an Uber driver physically assaulting one of his female riders with a whip. In the video, he is heard asking them to get down from his ride and having realized he is been recorded, attacked the lady with the whip in his hands.
While the video left many social media users outraged, many others were more curious about what had initially transpired between the driver and the ladies that led to the assault.There were some who suggested that these taxi-hailing companies should install dashcams in all registered cars for situations like this.
